This historic wharf, situated on the Ashby Canal, showcases a charming blend of industrial heritage and natural beauty. The old warehouses and buildings that line the wharf have been sympathetically restored, now housing a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Visitors can stroll along the towpath, taking in the picturesque views of the canal and surrounding countryside, while also exploring the wharf's many attractions, including a museum and a boat trip departure point.
Lovely place to stop. There's a shop and you can get a hot drink and watch the world go by
Great place to stay for a couple of nights, a great atmosphere and lovely people, brilliant charity shops
Visited the wharf on a lovely sunny Thursday morning as part of the Ashby canal walk. The walk is well signposted from Measham .The lady serving tea and coffee was friendly and coped so well with our large group. It is a beautiful and peaceful stop with plenty of seating and a chance to watch the gentle wildlife and canal boat scenes.
Very interesting place to visit
Nice place for a quick turn round Elsin water And rubbish Lack of Amenities Mean you have to turn around and go back
Lady at centre so kind & helpful. Answered all our questions about the Ashby Canal in general & also the heroic efforts by volunteers to restore the last few miles. The shop had all sorts of items, some new & lovingly made in order to help with fund-raising. A very uplifting experience & very interesting. Glad we got to the end and a lovely peaceful mooring too. Water & rubbish disposal available!
