SoapWorks - part of the Port Sunlight Experience. Our brand-new interactive family experience. Designed to encourage more children to engage with the STEM subjects (science technology engineering and mathematics), come and have fun learning about the science of soap and its life-saving properties! SoapWorks explores why we need soap, how it gets made, what we like to buy and why, and all the different ways we use it. This playful, interactive experience is brand new for 2021 and opens up the village's historic school room The Lyceum for the first time.
This is one of the museums in Port Sunlight dedicated to Levers/Unilever. Whilst the other two parts are about the history of the company, its staff and the village built for them this one is about soap, past and present. I would say it is mostly for children with interactive stuff but if you are adults with an enquiring mind give it a go. It is included in the price anyway! The staff were lovely here as they were at the others.
Great hands on experience for all the family, plus great history too. Buy a ticket for the Museum and it includes the workers cottage and the soap works so it's good value
