This 19th-century woollen mill, now a museum, showcases the history of the textile industry in Wales. The mill's original machinery is still intact, giving visitors a glimpse into the manufacturing process of the time. Exhibits highlight the lives of the mill workers, the evolution of textile production, and the significance of the industry in the region. The mill's picturesque setting, surrounded by the River Ebbw and rolling hills, adds to its charm.
What a delightful place to visit! We have been meaning to pay Solva Woollen Mill a visit for a fortnight. Today's rain made us do just that. It did not disappoint: a lovely cuppa in the tea room, a look in the studio and some purchases from the shop. Just Gorgeous!!!
Absolutely lovely place! The beautifully woven textiles, rugs, jumpers, and various wool products are a true testament to the craftsmanship at Solva Woollen Mill. The oldest mill in Pembrokeshire. The coffee, adorned with traditional patterns, adds a special touch to the visit. I also loved that you can purchase bags of thrums for just PS5, allowing you to own a piece of this heritage and support the mill. A must-visit for anyone in Pembrokeshire!
Solva Woolen Mill is the oldest working wool spinning mill in Pembrokeshire. And worth a visit for that reason alone. It's as if time has stood still.
Very nice place, and wonderful different things in the shop. We appreciated that all things are made in Wales or Britain, the selection of nice things vary from woolen blankets and floors made at that place to other items like pullover , selectes books and more. We forgot one item and the owner was so nice to sent this item to our holiday address. Perfect service and very kind owner. Thanks again and we hope that a lot of people enjoy this place.
Interesting opportunity to see weaving looms in action. Shop well laid out, good selection of items. Can't comment on cafe, but there was a steady stream of cyclists, which usually indicates decent tea/coffee and cake! A worthwhile stop on a day out. Waterwheel currently being worked on, nice chat with the carpenter.
Fun place to visit and to see weaving taking place. Shop has a good variety of clothing and gifts and there is a cafe next to the store for a cuppa and a slice of cake. Staff are friendly and helpful.
