Whilst we had a lovely time, the accommodation let this place down. We wasn't expecting much, but we got a shock when arriving. The van was damp (seating area and carpets were wet) and very grubby! We found crisps and tomatoes around, the floor areas also had loads of grit and when my husband got a wet wipe and wiped the floor it came up black, so cleaning must have been quick. The bedding has seen better days, as has the van itself! The floor felt like it was corroding in places and may eventually go through. Windows broken and letting in drafts. To charge some of the prices they do, I really think they should upgrade the older worn and damp vans. We all came away with a chesty cough from the dampness. That said, the entertainment was great and our kids had a great time. Craig was spot on and a great asset to your park. The overall complex was clean and tidy and great location for various places.
We had a, wonderful week here!! Yes, the caravan was a bit tired, but we knew what to expect as we were taking our dog, so we knew it would be an older caravan, but, it was spotlessly clean, and well equipped. The park had a good clubhouse, and bar, and though the entertainments, team was small, they did a great job!! The little shop was well stocked with essentials, and the grounds were really clean, neat and tidy. And, the staff were lovely!! All very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!
Park is very well kept, clean and a very nice area to be in. |Scenic walk down to the beach (quite far, so be prepared!) But lovely if you like walking. |Pool is quite small, but kept the kids happy. Unfortunately, you only have a 45min time slot, which isn't long enough for the kids, but perfect for the parents! Haha!. |Entertainment at this venue, Craig is basically a one man band, he does such a good job. Very entertaining and works super hard. There are a couple of other entertainers, but Craig is top notch and one night ran the whole night in peak season! Fantastic! He must be exhausted after his nights entertaining. The park isn't over filled with caravans/chalets so the bar area isn't over filled. It's a very nice and quiet park. If you are looking for something that is relatively quiet and family orientated also pet friendly, this is the perfect place.
We had a great week here!! Yes, our caravan was a bit tired, but as we had our dog with us, we had expected an older caravan, but it was clean and well equipped, so we had no complaints. Good sized entertainment room/bar, and well stocked shopped with all essentials. The staff were lovely, very friendly, and ready to help. Thanks guys, we will definitely be back!
We had the best week at South Bay. On arrival the reception lady was very helpful, we stayed in a dog friendly gold chalet, I was not expecting much but was so pleasantly surprised it was the cleanest place we've ever stayed in the shower was outstanding the decor was lovely and everything was of a high standard. The welcome pack was gratefully received and there was a dishwasher too!! We didn't really use any daytime facilities as we spent our days out and about we came with two teenagers and 2 dogs, the pool looked good and although not needed there is a lovely children's play area. We didn't eat on site so can't comment on that, the shop was adequate with friendly people. The making of our holiday was the night time entertainment it was fun! Craig, Dean and Meg made us so welcome including our dogs. Bingo and bingo beats were great, tin it to win it was a laugh, especially as I won haha. The location is amazing if you are able take a walk to Berry Head where you will find the Best Cafe in the World!! We just had a great time!! Thank you I do hope we will return.
Lovely clean campsite, good facilities for disabled, club house and entertainment great. Loved the swimming pool, inside and outside. All staff were friendly and helpful. Very good bus service into Brixham where you can catch bus to Paignton or Torque. Short ride to catch the ferry to Dartmouth and Steam train to Paignton. Beautiful part of Devon, will be returning
