A picturesque beach with soft golden sand and calm turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. The beach is lined with a promenade, featuring a range of cafes, restaurants, and amusement arcades. Visitors can enjoy the thrill of the Lowestoft pier, which stretches out into the North Sea, offering stunning views of the coastline.
Lovely beach, golden sand and bonus of amazing sculptures, Walking Men by Laurence Edwards. Sadly the sculptures are only there till the end of August. We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Hatfield, right on the beach front. Spacious terrace and food and drink excellent and very reasonable. Room good. Worth exploring the area, Kirkley Village with its quirky, artisan shops. Recommend Desmond a one of a kind cafe offering hot, cold drinks and food in a cool, laid back artsy vibe. Its not pretentious, just friendly and comfortable. Also The Chippy, best fish and chips and great service.
A spacious sandy beach only a short walk from Lowestoft rail station. The promenade boasts a decent selection of stalls if you fancy an ice cream or some fish and chips. You'll find public toilets in the reopened pavilion and in a block just past the pier. Keep an eye out for cyclists and mobility scooters racing down the promenade.
South beach Lowestoft was absolutely lovely. The sand is soft and golden. The sea is clean. It was close to lots of local amenities. There were lots of benches and bins along the promenade. If you were entering the beach from the top promenade then there are ramps suitable for wheelchairs instead of taking the steps down. There are toilets including disabled. Also several kiosks selling buckets and spades as well as refreshments. There are lots of beach huts for rent and some are disabled friendly.
I love the beach.. not sure what is happening with the rest of Lowestoft.
The South Beach ideal for all the family this was award winning beach.with all amenities,no problem for parking.
