A serene and picturesque lake situated within South Norwood Country Park, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The lake's calm waters reflect the surrounding trees and vegetation, creating a sense of tranquility and harmony with nature. Visitors can stroll around the lake's perimeter, taking in the sights and sounds of the natural world, or simply sit and relax on one of the many benches provided. The lake is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and other aquatic creatures, adding to its charm and allure.
A fantastic oasis amid the wailing of Beckenham Goals and the screeching of its saddled tram station. There are 4 formal viewing points, each with a short trail through the shrubbery in order to catch sight of wildlife amid the reed beds. A fantastic number of species, but 2 of the 4 jetties have been taped off and dilapidated for the past 3 months. I think a few more accidents are required for them to be fixed - either that or it must be to do with the fact that it lies exactly on the boundary line of Croydon and Bromley; the most beautiful ransom strip I ever did see.
Home of many species of waterfowl, with several viewing platforms. Peaceful
Great place to clear your head
