What a great place this is. Run by volunteers. Great place to spend at least half a day. Lots to see. Suits all ages and dog friendly. A rover ticket is PS16 per adult , dogs are free but you must get a ticket for them. Cafe , toilets both ends of the line. Signal box and maintenance yard. Went in school holidays not to busy, booked on line (no booking fee). You can just turn up and buy a ticket. Right next to south tyne river. Large car park we'll sign posted easy to find. Highly recommend.
Very relaxing way to spend 90 mins. There's parking available within the station itself, and some additional on street parking. Train staff were friendly and informative, and the journey itself was very relaxing and pleasantly busy. Would recommend this as an event to do with any family members irrespective of age.
A really pleasurable walk. Simple, flat and straight. So much wildlife from Deer to Oyster Catchers. Just a beautiful place. The occasional Steam Train. Perfect for a tranquil walk with picnic tables along the way.
