A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and calm, clear waters, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxation. The beach is surrounded by a charming town with historic buildings, quaint shops, and traditional pubs, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy water sports, such as sailing and kayaking, or take a leisurely stroll along the beach and admire the beautiful views of the Suffolk Coast. The beach is also a popular spot for fishing, with many anglers coming to try their luck in the waters.
Southwold beach is excellent especially for children all sand and flat, the pier is lovely to take a wonder around, the water clock was not working which was disappointing, the view from the pier looking towards the lighthouse and the beach huts is amazing. Would recommend a visit.
Lovely beach that stretches for a long distance. It's busy at the pier end, where there is a variety of food (including great fish and chips), arcades and toilets. Then as you walk along the front the beach continues but gets quieter. Nice clean sand all along
A wonderful place to be. Fantastic beach. Lots of shops in a quaint town.
Pleasant beach , safe for children right next to the pier, putting green and cafe just up the road and a short walk down to the High Street and local shops.
Reasonable beach with clean and fine sand. The sea isn't wildly appealing. There are some decent enough ice cream and snack stalls along the beachfront. I wouldn't venture long distances for this beach but for locals it's a decent option.
Lovely Seaside town, nice sandy beach, plenty of places to eat and drink just need more sun
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
