ONLINE BOOKING ONLY! Please see website for up to date opening hours and session times. Dare enter the lair of the resident Dragon; or plunge into the Mississippi Drifter for a fantastic river tyre ride; get into a spin on Infinity with its funky laser lights and jukebox. You should be at least 1m tall and confident in water to ride the flumes but with Ricky's Reef trainer pool, an interactive waterplay zone; sun terraces; bubble spa and Cafe, there's sure to be something for everyone. Remember! Splashdown is an all action waterpark park - there is no adult swimming pool. Who needs a pool when the slides are this cool.
Good selection of slides with assistants at slides who were quite on it and made sure people were being safe and waiting to use the slides correctly. Most slides are not too scary, just a bit fast but nothing too intense but two fairly scary ones outside for those who want a challenge! Only issues were that the wristbands they give you to scan at the slide to "enable" it or show you're safe to go, didn't work so the assistants mostly just verbally instructed us to go down but that added to their workload. Not too busy, went on a weekday and the water was fairly warm as its clearly heated. Inside was warm too so not too cold walking around soaking wet. Mixture of kids, families, a school trip and couples and just other adults going for a fun time. Pretty good atmosphere of everyone having fun. Wasn't especially clean but wasn't.. Especially dirty either. Locker area is just a bit run down and not very well kept but still functional locks, lockers and toilets etc which were decently clean. Had a wicked time, would advice taking the kids here or going as a couple, as I did. Was fun and glad to have come!
I've been going with family and friends for years and it is not as good as it used to be! You used to be able to go all day and now it is limited to 3 hours which just flies by and isn't really enough time to fully enjoy it by the time you have queued. Also not as good value for money as it's the same price, if not more, for less time. Certain areas were very smelly and changing areas/ toilet areas are cramped. Some of the showers were cold. The inside area was nice and warm, perhaps a little too hot. I appreciate that the outside will be cold but I feel that more could be done to heat the tower which leads to the dingy slides on a cold day. The new wristbands are rubbish - they are so much more uncomfortable than the old rubber ones and if staff put them on the wrong way they are not easy to tag. Despite these down sides, we still had a lot of fun. There is a good variety of slides so there is something there for everyone and they are good fun. Would definitely come back, but I do hope that improvements will be made to make it a more comfortable experience and better value for money
Have not been here since the 90's remember enjoying it back then. Took my Boy here today. He loved it and we had a good time. Some of the rides were quite intense. But that's part of the fun! We got there early and queue times were not bad. Got longer as the day grew on but not too bad. Plus you can just go on the quicker ones multiple times as we did.
If you feel the cold, don't come here. The water is cold. The air temperature is cold. The 'jacuzzi' area is barely warm. Over busy during school holidays and overpriced for what it is. Lots of waiting around in queues when wet is not ideal! My oldest child loved it (age 10). It might be nicer on a hot day (it's raining today) as there are outside pools etc. Showers are naff and not private. Changing rooms - lots don't lock properly. Overall, needs more heating, less people and better facilities for the cost of the place.
I went to this water park when I was younger and nostalgia was calling when the opportunity arose to go again. The good points: Loads of different slides to try, Smaller pool for younger children. Going as a group was dealt with very smoothly by having a separate entrance. Water was clean and a good temperature. The variety of slides meant there was something for everyone. The bad points: Way, way over priced, it cost PS93 for the 6 of us to go, no option for a family ticket, I cannot see the justification in the price at all. Most of the staff seemed completely uninterested and were clearly not enjoying their jobs. I hate to criticise them, but honestly it's the impression I got that day. Not all were like this but it's what I remember from the day. It's really confusing where each ride is, we, along with others were so confused where to go with the rings for the first time, which is really awkward turning back with small children and massive inflatable rings and narrow stairways. Better signage is needed. Please don't get me wrong splashdown is a great place, we did have a great time and this place deserves its 4 stars but it wasn't quite 5 because of the price, staff friendliness and signage. I would still recommend going here though, they just need to reduce their prices or offer a family ticket.
Communal showers were no more than a dribble of water due to the lack of cleaning the shower heads, I would estimate at least 80% of the holes in the shower. Head were blocked. Just by scrapping with my nail I got them a lot better. More attention to detail and a better maintenance routine stop this happening in future
