Splatt Farm is a brand new, simple campsite, offering basic facilities, peace and quiet with beautiful, far-reaching views. It's a place where kids can be kids and dogs and campfires are encouraged - you can also buy magical fairy dust in the camp shop to make your fire into a rainbow of flames, all just around the corner from the beautiful Quantock Hills and all of the attractions that Somerset has to offer. The team at Splatt Farm Gardens are on a mission to spread peace and happiness throughout the world whilst promoting sustainability and connection to nature. It's strongly encouraged for guests to sit back, relax, switch off from screens and technology and reconnect to a simpler life.
Peaceful, beautiful surroundings and good basic facilities. Each campfire space had its own fire pit, the compost loo was clean and comfortable and the was firewood, snores kits and some magical fire dust for sale. The site was spacious and open, with agriculture and a pretty pond. There were even some sheep! Amanda was incredibly helpful and welcoming, and I enjoyed meeting the family. She offered to show us round the site and share her knowledge of farming practices with us. Overall a perfect place to visit for a tranquil getaway.
Had a really relaxing time on the campsite. The compost toilet and portaloo were clean, there was plenty of space and privacy, and most importantly it was quiet, which was such a welcome change from the busy city life. There is a trampoline which the kids enjoyed, and a small pond/flower garden/relaxation area. I really enjoyed the thick freshly cut grass, meaning I could be barefoot all day. Delightful! Big thanks to the hosts, Amanda and Pete, they were friendly and helpful. Even got some extra blankets from Amanda as my sleeping bag was not warm enough.
My heart looks forward to my annual trip to Splatt Farm and it never disappoints. Amanda is super helpful, the land is natural and peaceful, there are great walking spots driving in every direction, local enough shops for forgotten essentials, and space to exhale and just be. An absolute pleasure.
Liked: The setting and atmosphere. The welcome from Amanda and her willingness to make us comfortable. The region which is fantastic for walking. Disliked: Nothing.
What an amazing campsite. Run by the wonderful Amanda and Pete who've created a beautiful haven of peace, simplicity and tranquility. Highly recommended if you want to relax on nature
The campsite is very nice with some free range chickens to keep you company! :) This was my first solo hiking trip and I wasn't sure how to check in as there were no details on either the website or in the campsite. There is a toilet with a sink outside and no shower, but otherwise it's lovely! Big thanks to Peter who was very helpful in helping me with the fire even though it was late at night. I would definitely recommend it!
