A 60-foot-tall wooden sculpture of a spud (a colloquial term for a potato) located in a field in Northumberland, England, created by artist Malcolm Robertson in 2019.
Decent place for a short walk. We spent an hour here on a Thursday afternoon. You can walk along the canal and around the woodland and field but there isn't much to do or see apart from that. A little busy and not very easy to social distance along the canal. Free small car park plus space on the road if it's full. Fine as a one off but better places to go.
A lovely calm nature reserve with extensive walks through woodland and fields. Also links to nice canal walks. Lymm village is within easy reach and well worth a visit.
Decent walk out when the sun is shining. My dog enjoyed the walk too. Dog friendly flat walk. Far too many dog poo bags lying about though. Not enough if even any bins in the Woodlands only by the carpark entrance did I spot one.
We took our springer and cocker spaniels who loved it. They had plenty of places to sniff around and run. Lovely walks too.
Fields, forests, water (canal), what a perfect place to walk the dog. But the paths are really poor and muddy. Unusable in winter.
Love Spud Wood . The choice of the woods or the canal walk . Dog friendly. Magic in the woods , and a couple of tree swings for 50 something year old women to find their inner child , or the beautiful picturesque walk along the canal
