St Andrews Botanic Garden is a living research and conservation experiment where we explore the ways ecology and evolution unfold in the plant kingdom - right at the heart of historic St Andrews. We're home to some of the most dynamic plants and habitats, from both Fife and around the world. We aim to address the new combination of challenges the natural world is facing with positivity, creating an ecologically vibrant place to explore and learn about evolution and botany. Our newest addition is the Tangled Bank, showcasing the very best of North East Fife plant life. Incorporating sand dunes, meadows, glades, meandering grass paths and a boardwalk, the Tangled Bank is a beautiful space to spend time.
A beautiful little Botanic Garden with an incredible scree Garden! This Garden is located in a urban setting so the front gate was a little hard to find but we'll worth a visit. The only down side is that this Garden is not disabled friendly. The main path is full hard standing however at the far side of the garden there is a little step which could be a problem. Despite that, this is a wonderful place to visit!
What a treasure! I had no idea this place existed, and I feel most people are the same as we very much had the place to ourselves apart from the odd other person. Beautiful gardens and a great play area for my little girl. Definitely worth a visit and ideal for a picnic on a sunny day!
Loved it Girl on main entrance, very friendly and helpful . Missed a proper cafe experience, but only a short walk to centre. Would recommend
Fantastic botanic gardens with free entry for students! Very quiet and beautiful. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a nature escape within St Andrews. In April, there were not many flowers, but it was still very enjoyable.
A visit back to the botanic gardens, first in 2 years, Sad to see the glasshouses are away, tender plants have suffered. Still in early spring, so not much flowering apart from galanthus, helleborines & the odd marsh marigold A garden in transition, still a gem, but needs investment
Absolutely beautiful space, really quite large as well. Full of great new ideas to take home to the garden, feeling very inspired and relaxed!
