A picturesque waterfall located in St Audries Bay, Somerset, England, where a small stream cascades down a rocky cliff, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere amidst the lush green surroundings.
Amazing place, parking is PS4 for the day. The path down is gravely with stairs at the bottom. Once you're on the beach, the water fall is to the right. It looks amazing, and you can get some amazing photos of the falls or just on the beach. The photos will speak for themselves.
Heading home to Wales from Devon and stopped by to show members of the family who didn't know waterfalls on beaches were a thing in the UK, just how beautiful Somerset's St Audrie's is! Bit of a scramble to it and back & entrance is through the holiday park but they do have a small pay and display available and tea rooms. Obviously the more recently it's rained the better it's flowing but even so it's been beautiful each time I've stopped by.
Walk to waterfall was long and steep, not for anyone with mobility issues. Dog friendly make sure you pick up after. Fossil beach, potential loose cliff edges. Waterfall was rather disappointing too
Don't expect a great waterfall. It's a tiny area with flowing water. However the beach is quite nice and wonderful 3 km walk all the way to the end. Bit beech is odd and a bit dirty green bubbly water of sorts. So I would avoid unless you are just going there for a walk. I don't think swimming there is a good idea :( Drive inside day time visitors can pay 4PS for parking. Aside from that it looks like a private caravan area of sorts. The signs are quite confusing.
Beautiful place. Lots of fossils to be found in the rocks and a bird of prey nesting on the rock face if you walk around the coast a bit. Little Rock pools too when the tide is out. Very steep steps down to it, I didn't see any accessible route unfortunately.
Great little beach, contrary to other reviews, the parking was straight forward and not confusing. I don't begrudge the parking charges as it helps fund the facilities (toilets & bins) It made a nice little change to the normal beaches my kids go to, they loved the waterfall and fossil hunting, would definitely go back. I wouldn't recommend it if you are taking a pushchair, the walk down to the beach is very steep with stairs at the end.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
