A 12-meter-tall (40 ft) granite monument erected in 1902 to commemorate the conversion to Christianity of St. Breock, a 5th-century Celtic saint, standing on a prominent ridge in the Breock Downs, a scenic area of rolling hills and woodlands in Cornwall, England.
Well worth the detour! Prehistoric marker / monument that you can get up close and personal with. No other animals around so perfect for visiting with small children and dogs. It's also just a nice little spot to stop if you're driving through.
Largest standing stone in Cornwall. Worth a look if your agree driving past. It's in a field just off the side of the road. Not really anywhere to park but you can just pull to the side because it's a quiet little laneway.
A big standing stone close enough to Wadebridge to make it worth a visit, however, like most roads in the area, you have to have your whits about you! Worth it for the views and probably fantastic at sunset or sunrise, as opposed to midday when I went. Limited parking, enough for 2-3 cars at a time, but It was completely empty, no one about and no litter which is a nice bonus.
A very large stone in the middle of the Moor. No parking, but we just pulled off the road(track) and walked to it. It is only a short distance, approximately five minutes. There is a signage board.
Quiet place for a lovely walk
Worth a diversion to see the largest standing stone in Cornwall. About 4000 years old. Great views in all directions. Close by are some murky WW2 remains also.
