This 13th-century church features a striking tower with a unique pyramid-shaped roof, surrounded by a picturesque village and rolling countryside. The interior boasts a stunning array of medieval stone carvings, intricate woodwork, and vibrant stained-glass windows, including a magnificent east window depicting the Virgin Mary.
Picturesque church with beautiful grounds and scenery, surrounded by bluebells with plentiful seating to stop and soak in the landscape and the local wildlife. If you're lucky you might even catch a glimpse of some local birds of prey.
A wonderful church built on what was the site of an old iron age hillfort. A reasonable amount of parking on site and has tremendous views from the churchyard . The church itself from the outside has been built and added to over the years which may make you think it will be poor inside. On the contrary it is an absolute wonderful church in every way. Much of this is to do with the Vernon family from hanbury Hall. There are quite a few exquisitely carved tombs to various members of the family all wonderfully lit. The roof is beautiful and trees line the aisles ! The organ is a piece of art in itself. If all this want good enough, there is a small cafe inside with honesty box, a book exchange and a toilet. A truly great church
The Church looks lovely from the outside. After a long walk from Hanbury Hall I was disappointed to find the church locked up at 3pm on 23rd May '24. So obviously didn't get to see the inside of the church which of course was the purpose of my visit.
This church is stunning, situated on the top of a hill overlooking Hanbury hall and Worcestershire.
Lovely place to sit and be peaceful. Fabulous views over surrounding countryside. Lovely old church and grassy graveyard with water bowls for dogs. Fab starting point for a ramble through Hanbury woods and fields and Hanbury Hall estate. Don't get blocked in the carpark on a Sat, though - beware weddings!!
Great panoramic view next to the church looking south. Beautiful spot. A perfect country church.
