This picturesque fishing village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall is famous for its stunning harbour, beautiful beaches, and charming old cottages. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded valleys, offering scenic walks and breathtaking views of the Fal Estuary. Visitors can enjoy water sports, fishing trips, and boat rides from the harbour, as well as exploring the village's quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants. The 16th-century St Mawes Castle, built by Henry VIII, stands guard over the village and is now a museum showcasing the region's maritime history.
Small but beautiful village nice little beach and gorgeous scenery, we visited on the ferry from Falmouth which took 15 min and cost 12 pound.
Is a small village but beautiful. I sometimes delivery there and every time is like first time because you can't be bothered about the view. You cross with king Henry Ferry not expensive. The main road can be a challenge people sometimes don't park properly.
Beaches full of rock life, St Mawes bakery makes possibly the best pasties ever, St Mawes town itself small enough to explore fully in 30 minutes with nice hotels and little shops. Views across the bay fantastic as you look South.
