This stunning medieval church boasts a striking tower and a richly decorated interior, featuring intricate stone carvings, stunning stained-glass windows, and a beautiful wooden ceiling. One of 2 parish churches either side of the river. The setting is quite beautiful, with a lovely old clapper bridge at the end of the footpath. The church itself is Norman, has no electricity and is a simple affair inside, with its whitewashed walls. It is well worth a visit, the whole site is pleasing on the eye.
This is a 12th-century church in a very pretty Cotswold village by the River Leach. Great in Spring when the daffodils are in bloom. The twin villages of Eastleach Martin and Eastleach Turville are next to each other with two churches facing each other. The two are joined by a stone clapper bridge called Keble's Bridge after John Keble, the poet and Oxford scholar.
We didn't go inside as they were still locked ~ possibly still using the Covid excuse. They looked well maintained, though 2 churches so close together with their attendant costs is immoral
