This 78-hectare park features a mix of woodland, grassland, and wetland habitats, with several walking trails, including the 2.5-mile Cray River Way trail that follows the River Cray. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, bats, and insects, and offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the park's many features, including a lake, a pond, and several streams, as well as a children's play area and picnic sites. The park is also dotted with historic features, including ancient woodland, a medieval moat, and a 19th-century icehouse.
This should be a fantastic open space for locals. Wide open space, great views. Instead it backs on the star lane gypsy camp so there are feral horses and kids trying to hit you with golf balls. And the amount of tracks showing quad bikes doing doughnuts everywhere means we won't be back
Calm and quite palace. Good for getting away from the crowd and relax
Quiet place good for dog Walters and families. Wear some good shoes mind you as the tracks around can get a little muddy.
Nice quiet place to take the dog for a walk
Lovely open space for walks/runs and great for sledging!
A wonderful park that provides vast views taking in the distant skyline of London as well as green hills and fields. In spring and summer it's scrub fields rise up in technicolour as wild flowers bloom. Home to song birds and on rare occasions a bird of prey I've never quite been able to identify. The small areas of woodland on the borders provide peaceful solitude... Most of the time. Unfortunately, the park is also shaped by frequent visit from quad bikes, bikes, and cars. These have reshaped the paths, in one place a well made path has become overgrown as people took to the muddy scar left by the bikes. This park used to have benches until they were knocked down by joyriders. I'm short, this park provides a tranquil escape to nature, except for the times it is being used as an unofficial off road driving experience.
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
