This charming town centre is filled with historic buildings, quaint shops, and lively cafes. The High Street is lined with medieval timber-framed buildings, some of which date back to the 17th century. Visitors can stroll along the cobblestone streets and admire the picturesque architecture, including the iconic Stamford Post Office, a beautiful Georgian-style building. The town centre is also home to a variety of independent boutiques, antique shops, and art galleries, as well as a bustling market square that hosts regular markets and events.

Stamford is such a lovely town, so tidy and clean. While so many of the market towns in Lincolnshire seem to have nothing but charity shops, nail bars, and Turkish Barbers, Stamford still has a lot more to offer. We went for a picnic at the park. So a nice place. The park is really appreciated by locals They walk their dog, picnic, or just sit and read. Have a day there you won't be disappointed. Also, Burghley House is just up the road, well worth a visit.
Plenty to do and see in Stamford. There's elements of history within the town. Restaurant's and bars are varied and all are reasonably priced. It's a child friendly town so all can enjoy it.
We went for a meal at Zada's which is a lovely little Turkish restaurant just off the main road. On the way back to the car we walked through the main square and the atmosphere was just brilliant. Loads of people were out enjoying themselves. No sign of drunk idiots, no hostilities, nobody rallying a souped-up twenty-year-old Corsa through town. It's just a nice town centre to be in. A thriving night life with the backdrop of Stanford's historic architecture.
Beautiful old town, lots of history to it. Nice and clean, well kept buildings Lots to see. Plenty of very nice shops A lovely ice cream shop. Will definitely visit again without hesitation.
