#wildlifebcn.org No. 2. STANGROUND WASH. Don't be fooled, the name is not a decree to the locals, they seemed sanitised enough from a social distance. Despite all the other reviews with car pictures, we parked ages away on a semi-vertical verge outside someone's house (sorry, we used Google Maps to get there!) Then pondered how to get over the river... Luckily, we found a little bridge over and instantly found the Propaganda Board (Pictured) and... a warning sign (Also Pictured) about a bull loose in the field!! Yes!! How exciting, some danger! H.E. was unimpressed; however, I was confident I could outrun her and leave her to the bull if necessary. There was no bull. Just bulls***. The wind was cold. The locals who knew better glanced over with bemusement from the nicer side of the river. H.E. threatened to leave me on only our second Nature Walk review. She ate a Toffee Crisp and simmered down. We marched around as swiftly as possible and made our escape. As we left, a younger couple made their way over the bridge to the smelly field. I hope they didn't nearly split up because of the rubbish field. Someone should check on them. Summary: Loved every minute. The Propaganda Board lied again. Stangrounders need not wash. No sign of Nigel. F**k Nigel. Nearby railway, oh everybody loves a train! JB & HE 10/4/21 #NatureWalkExperts
It's just a field really not a big one just a field I mean if you had a dog it would be good I guess but just to go to for a walk I wouldn't bother! However saying that I saw trains and goats and, I had a good day and maybe if it wasn't freezing and super windy it might of been abit better still a field but abit better. JB & HE 10/4/21 #NatureWalkExperts
It only a piece of tranquility between the railway and the back river (old river Nene) but a pleasent walk with the dogs.
beautiful place to take the kids on a nature walk, educational with the freedom to run for miles
Visited a friend's narrow boat
Good for walking and running
Dogs allowed
