This modern visitor centre offers interactive exhibits, educational displays, and a gift shop, providing an introduction to the park's history, wildlife, and conservation efforts.
A welcoming little visitor centre, located at the back of a car park, next to the Art Deco Cafe and close to the park's main entrance. It's run by dedicated and friendly volunteers. I was greeted as soon as I walked inside, and found plenty of free info about Blackpool attractions and places to visit in the North-west, as well as a history corner with interesting facts about the park's development in the 1920's. There was also a small exhibition of local art. A few nice crafts, second-hand books, and jigsaw puzzles for sale. The car park is free and there are Danfo toilets close by.
It was our first time at Stanley Park and managed to park in the car park, my wife noticed there was a Visitors Centre and said it would be a good idea to get a map of the park from the Centre. The door was open and there were people inside. The first person to speak to us in a very rudely manner was a gentleman. He barked at my wife, son and myself, "we are closed", this was followed up by a lady saying there is a sign on the door. My wife apologies and stated that it was our first time at the park and was looking for a map. We thought at first that the gentleman was joking but this was obviously not the case. We left the visitor centre and on exiting there was no sign just the opening times on an A4 piece on the door, which in fairness did say it was closed on Mondays. As a first time visitor to the park after lots of great reviews from friends, this was not the greatest first impression we expected from the park. If there was a private function then it should have been more clear, there was no need to be so rude, first impression count and ours of a lovely park has been tainted. Someone needs to attend a customer service course on how to speak to members of the public.
