Park & nature preserve with open green space, woodlands, meadows & a series of ponds & streams.
Plenty of places to walk around, some interesting parts of the park. The lake is clean and clear ,nice wooden statues dotted around. Only negative is there are so many paths you don't know which way to go as the maps only show main route so if it's your first time it's confusing, maybe some more posts added with the route colour would be helpful as we got lost few times.
Great place to come to, whether you have a dog to walk? Or just to leisurely walk around the park? This also connects to Stratton woods and you can walk for miles! You may come across wooden sculptures around the wooded areas! Have actually watched the guys making them during my many visits here. Huge free car park here, but can easily fill up! One bad thing, is the single road entrance! Can be frustrating if you come across an arrogant driver on entry or exit. Has a small cafe here, but have never used it. I like to come here. Worth a visit.
Great place to walk, free carpark. Has Rivers running through it so can be muddy in the winter, the lake is lovely. Herons, birds of prey and some lovely county views. What's not to like
It is one of the best country parks in Swindon. Nice lake, water streams, , and great walking trails. Wooden sculptures are beautiful. Great for walking, jogging, running, and cycling. Also worth spending a day with nature. The negative part is that hooligans who damage the park and its sculptures
Had a late afternoon walk around the lake and the woods. Very enjoyable in the sunshine. The paths were generally good, just a few muddy patches. Definitely recommend the park for walking.
Fantastic Park - I regularly work in Swindon and find the evenings very boring and was very pleased to find this little gem. It will become my new place to run while working away, there's a nice mix of walking trails ranging from 1km to 5km with a mix of gravel paths to hard pack mud/bark which makes it perfect for running around and exploring the woods. I ran around 6PM and the park wasn't too busy and allowed me to run around most paths at my own pace without getting in the way. Very well maintained paths and parks well worth a visit and the car parking was free
