Expanse of parkland and gardens with petting farm, barn play area, Victorian glasshouse and lake.
You can see that they really take care of the animals, everything was well maintained. Lovely range of animals - from llamas to emus to guinea pigs. There's a little soft play area, playground and lovely cafe. It is slightly pricey but if you live nearby you can buy a yearly pass which would make it more affordable if you went more frequently.
We spent a lovely afternoon walking around the gardens with our dogs. What a magnificent house it must have had at one time! Small cafe for a coffee after.
Great little day out especially when the lambing is going on. We spent about 2 hours here which was not just seeing the animals but going into the play areas and having a sit down snack. The area can be quite muddy if there has been rain recently so bring wellies just in case. Car park is free with adult tickets using a code in the ticket office.
Really enjoyed this Farm, the weather was really good and made the day even more enjoyable. Perfect place to spend a day with your family. You can feed the animals (cows, chicken, ducks, goats, rabbits, lama and sheeps) and have fun with the kids. There are also some playground for kids The farm is next to the park and you can have lunch there. In the park there us a beautiful pond with different type of birds. Nice place for a walk after the farm day. Car park near the park closes at 4.30.
Good venue and great place to spend an afternoon with the kids. Walking the gardens, doing the maze or feeding the animals. Across the road is a nive place for a walk, picnic or fishing. Only gripe was that we were not told that car parking was free today and ended up paying. Will return and do recommend.
Visited mid April in Easter holidays So many beautiful Magnolias, Rhododendron, Camelia all in bloom. Also saw lots of wildlife over the road in the other bit of the park by the lake, geese, swans, ducks, cormorant, a turtle basking in the sunshine. A lovely place to go for a wander. Parking is free if you pay to go in the farm, use the code displayed on the wall of the admission office at the ticket machine before you leave. I do think they could make this system a bit clearer as its not obvious when you get there.
