Steers Field is a scenic area in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, England, featuring a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The field is crisscrossed by dry stone walls and dotted with ancient trees, providing a tranquil atmosphere.
Best place for a walk and picnic. Wide open green space with couple of benches. Best for summer fun with friends. Even it was a chill day but still had very nice sun bath. Lovely to watch train passing by down in valley.
Steer's Field lies on the North Downs Way above Dorking and can be incorporated in many attractive walks in the area. There also is a car park and picnic area for those who wish to get there by car and spend a few pleasant hours there. Steer's Field offers a great view over the Greensand Hills across the valley, and Leith Hill in particular - with its mighty 292 metres the highest point in the Southeast of England! Do not miss walking down to the stretch of chalk grassland along the hillside and follow some of the narrow paths to spot the wonderful fauna and flora in summer, including blues and other butterflies, as well as several species of orchids.
Best place to see the sunset, great lower stony path good for running and dog even when top one is muddy... May get lost here especially if it gets dark quickly
Beautiful place to walk me and the family have been here a couple of times lately. Really lovely place to be very peaceful.
Love this area, stunning views across Leith Hill and Westcott. Our daughter Shelby's favourite spot.
Very pleasant; mighty fine views, and good spot for both picnicking and walking.
Good for kids
