Finally the stepping stones have been repaired, only taken ~4 years! Parking is pricey per car, but easy enough to take a picnic so it's not too expensive. A few walking loops of various length with good surface. Fairly busy when we went in the sun but good fun. Tickets cheaper if you buy in advance

Really good place to visit and there a couple of waterfall to go visit while your there, thay are cool to see. Simons seat which I didn't do because of time, but would of if I'd of planed it better. Stepping stones would of been really good to do,but there was to many people all readywalj8ng over it. Worth a day trip. Car park is around PS15 for 5he day. I was lukcy as I didn't mind walking a bit further to get to the Waterfalls,so didn't pay anything.

Bolton Abbey, and the area surrounding the priory, is a beautiful place for a day trip. There's lots to see and lovely trails to walk, and on top of that there are several tea rooms you can visit during your walk. You pay 15 pounds for a parking ticket but the abbey and the park itself is free. It's a fun place for children as well, as they have a Welly Trail which has games and play areas along the way. I would suggest arriving early, so that you can see the whole park - and make sure you visit the stunning Desolation Waterfall because that is absolutely gorgeous.

Shopping stones are currently closed for refurb from storm damage, but have been a few times and a lovely river crossing!

We have a fantastic day out enjoying all the various activities. The stepping stones where tempting however at the moment, there's a few stones missing, meaning you have to lower yourself in to the river at various sections, so don your crocs and shorts if you're keen on ticking off the stepping stones. There's a bridge for the rest of us softies! The river makes for a perfect water side picnic or ramble, or follow the signs for the Welly adventure trail for a engaging walk through the woods. We took a bus to Bolton Abbey so entry was free, however there's plentiful parking for PS15 standard charge (PS12.50 online). Also be aware, the Cavendish pavilion shop and cafe are card payments only.
