This pedestrian bridge spans the River Medway in Maidstone, Kent, featuring a unique stepped design with 15 spans, each with a slight incline, creating a zigzag pattern that allows users to cross the river while providing a scenic view of the surrounding area.
Wonderful views of the box hill on one side and the river mole on the other side. Water is clean and there's good space for picnic. Car park is ugly and expensive.
These stepping stones are great, they do exactly what they say on the tin...They are stones & you can step on them. It's a great way to cross the river Mole without getting wet. I strongly suggest you don't try this after being in the pub for three hours.
Quiet, clean, easy to park, could be more signage. Definitely worth a visit but need to go another way as there are works being carried out by Box hill viewing point so you cannot reach from that side. Ask the locals, they will show you the way. Be adventurous, get out of the box and enjoy nature. Great mood and energy guaranteed plus you get to pet some doggies.
Such a fun place to bring your kids! Don't rush on the stones some of them are slippy but they are pretty large! I walked in the water by the stones and it was ever so refreshing after all that walking down from Box Hill!
A good alterative way to cross the water if you don't want to risk the stepping stones.
Nice walk. Full river. Saw signs warning of polluted river, which is good to know but terribly sad that this government allows such things to happen to these lovely parts of our country.
