This tranquil nature reserve features a variety of wildlife and plant species, with walking trails and scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
It was a short walking trail, but be mindful of the stinging nettles and thorns in the nature reserve, especially if you're walking your dog.
What a lovely little nature reserve. Geocaching brought me here, there are a set of Ad Labs, otherwise I probably wouldn't have known about it. Nicely mown grass paths meander around a wild meadow with artwork along the way. There is a small car park and dog poop bins if you decide to take your dog for a walk there.
A hidden gem in Melbourn, tucked away as it is behind a private housing estate. Lot's of bird and insect life to see and hear and it's a relatively quiet place to take a rest with only the faint sound of the A10 a few hundred yards to the N.W.. It is predominantly an area left to nature so access to the River Mel is deliberately restricted, and pretty overgrown with reeds where it can be seen, which is a shame as the gentle trickle of water that can also be watched would make the meadows an even better visit.
Lovely quiet meadows for a picnic and delicious greengages growing. Would give 5 stars if the wooden walkway over the water was open/repaired and dog owners picked up after their dogs. Melbourn is lucky to have this place!
Nice peaceful serene area. Quite overgrown and no lighting. Some beautiful trees. Shame the artwork no made more of - solar lamps like flames would make the art sculptures come alive and add warmth to the surrounding landscape.
Lovely place to walk the dog, or just wander round, especially in nicer weather, has seating around if wanted to just enjoy the peace and quiet or read. Having lived on Melbourn many years, only heard about this place few years ago, it's nice and hidden so nice and quiet.
