This reserve is a haven for wildlife, with its diverse habitats including woodland, grassland, and wetlands. The site is home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including rare species such as the nightingale, bechstein's bat, and the marsh fritillary butterfly. Visitors can explore the reserve's many trails, including the 2-mile Stodmarsh Trail, which takes you through some of the most beautiful and tranquil areas of the site. The reserve is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with many species of birds calling Stodmarsh home, including the bittern, marsh harrier, and Montagu's harrier.
Beautiful place, nice and quiet. Good for the soul and nice to get out of London. Went with my little boy to see if could see a bittern and bobs your uncle we did.
Such a beautiful place! One route was flooded when we visited, but we took a different path and ended up at a lovely bird hide. Stunning views of birds and information about the birds inside so you can spot them and learn about them.
Really lovely circular walk. Saw plenty of wildlife including a Marsh Harrier and a grass snake.
What a beautiful place, right on our doorstep. The mud in the winter meant we burned more calories than expected as it was heavy going. We will look forward to drier days in the spring so we can really benefit from the great views
Nice walk to do in the nature. Enjoyed it
Beautiful walk with great views. We were really taken aback by the beauty of this place. A few huts darted around the tracks to watch wildlife from Inc a tower. Free parking or donations via Ringo. On site toilets at the entrance. Clear and well sign posted routes. Free maps at the entrance. Tracks are well kept and cut back. Very clean and no rubbish.
