Stonebridge Wild River Reserve is a 15 acre water meadow with the Kennet flowing through it, in Marlborough. There is no car park or toilet facilities. The reserve is accessible on foot from the public footpath Stonebridge Lane. The reserve is mananged for wildlife and for people.
Most of the paths are overgrown or becoming overgrown but it is an absolutely lovely place and we love coming here.
There is a tre gone down across the wood slat platform bridges and couldn't get round it all over grown with nettles
Such a well hidden beauty spot, great to get out into the countryside, and more or less on Marlboroughs doorstep
Excellent for dogs and children, my 3 year old loved paddling in the water, very shallow but very cold, the whole area is excellent for a stroll with the family or bringing ur dogs for a walk.
How disappointing. Paths were extremely overgrown which is not great when you have little ones in tow. There were no marked paths. Would be nice to have a marked/ colour coded circular walk. The boardwalk needs replacing & is ended by a fallen tree. Poorly managed in my opinion. No disabled friendly access on the site which is a shame. This could be a fantastic place with investment/good use of money & a vision. I suggest those in charge go visit some local nature reserves & learn some lessons from them.
Nice little walk around the area. Peaceful, swans.
Hiking
Good for kids
