Stonehaugh campsite is a quiet and relaxed rural site situated within the stunning Northumberland National Park between Kielder Water & Forest Park and Hexham.
We loved this wonderful, tranquil site for our overnight stop in our motorhome on the way to Scotland. The owner was extremely helpful, and friendly, and, being midweek and early in the season, we had the campsite to ourselves! Just be aware of the 6 amps electricity. The surrounding walks are amazing and the scenery beautiful. The facilities were immaculate - and - best of all - the luxury of a bath! I would really recommend this campsite.
Lovely, campsite. Very quiet for our stay. Helpful owners arranged boards to prevent our campervans getting stuck after an extremely wet end of May. Yes, there were midges, in spite of the active midge traps (ask the owners, it's really quite interesting ;)), but it has been so wet & now the temperatures are starting to rise (equals ideal midge breeding conditions) .... I'm sure it will be fine as conditions become drier.
Beautiful campsite and location, campsite owners are also really kind helpful and friendly. Midges were a big problem for us, but campsite owner did offer to refund if we choose to leave which we didn't.
A hidden gem! Welcomed by Rupert and the rest of the village at this beautiful site. Clean facilities and stunning views. Will visit again!
It's a campsite, so our rooms were, and are, awesome as we'd just bought a new tent.
Stayed for one night and wished it could have been longer. Beautifully kept site in a stunning location. Small amenities building for dish washing, toilets and showers. Walking directly from the site and a small village hall/club ran by volunteers serving food on Friday night. Made very welcome by the locals and dog friendly too. Would highly recommend staying here. Surprisingly great phone signal on 3 if you need it and amazing star gazing on a clear night.
