A picturesque harbour situated on the northeast coast of Scotland, Stonehaven Harbour is a charming spot surrounded by historic buildings, quaint shops, and seafood restaurants. The harbour itself is home to a fleet of fishing boats, and visitors can watch fishermen unloading their daily catch or take a stroll along the quay. The harbour is also a popular spot for sailing and yachting, with several marinas and boat clubs in the area.
Scottish fishing villages, harbours and coves are simply unforgettable. This is a beautiful harbour with restaurants, bars and the freshest fish at the seafood cart. The views are superb in every direction and day and night the town looks beautiful. There is also a soft, sandy beach in this harbour. From the top of Scotland and all around the coast there are incredible places like this all along the coastline. Visiting them is a holiday like no other and full of enchantment, memorable magic and local treasures.
A delightfully picturesque traditional little beach and harbour area, with an abundance of seafood options and vendors (if that's what floats your boat). We especially appreciated the little wire sculptures lining the coastline, and the free telescopes for you to try some wildlife spotting.
We really love to visit Stonehaven and it's beautiful harbour. We usually park at the harbour, it's limited but free there so try and arrive early especially on a sunny day. If you walk all around the harbour there is a path up and you can walk all the way to Dunnotar castle. You get a fantastic view of the harbour from the top. Back at the harbour you can get a much earned coffee or beer at one of the pubs or we usually use the coffee shop. There is also an interesting museum at the harbour to. The harbour itself has a lovely sandy beach which is popular with families with young children. Definitely one of my favourite places in Scotland.
A very picturesque harbour located just outside the town centre of Stonehaven. Very clean area, beautiful views, and many things to explore. Try out a few of the bars around the Harbour, grab something to eat and enjoy the sea air. Do walk back along the sea front though! The boat sculptures are worth the walk.
