Public park with indoor and outdoor facilities including leisure centre, museum, arboretum and lake.
Beautiful Park. Dog Friendly. Lots of dog waste bins. Lots of benches to sit on. Great for nice long walks.
Ive been going for years and its still incredible! A lush park with an amazing garden. The bathrooms are kept well and its very dog friendly great place for a picnic and a playground for the kids. Family fun for everyone
Lovely park and playground. There is a free museum which is quite big and rather impressive for being free in comparison to others that charge. At the museum there is an art gallery and a lovely outside area. The park itself is not huge but great for a few hours and a picnic. The only cafe is at the museum unfortunately along with the toilets but we did not find any other facilities. Parking was free which is a bonus and there were a few other walks going off from here which look great for another day. Well worth the visit. The sensory garden wasn't impressive, there was very little there to consider it a sensory garden especially when comparing to others we have been too.
We visit the park regularly as it is a lovely place to picnic, play and walk. You can stay all day for free (up to 12 hours parking). On our most recent visit, yesterday, we spotted a heron and ate our picnic admiring it. We also popped into Museum in the Park for the first time yesterday and were amazed that it was a) free (donations more than welcome), and b) had so many activities for the kids specifically to do. I.e. various trails around the park and the museum itself.
This is an amazing space for a young family. It's rare these days to find somewhere with so much space and things to do, that is also free to visit. Even bigger plus point that even the parking is free - not sure if that is all the time but free on our recent visit. The park area appears to be kept clean and well looked after, apart from the kids play area itself which looks like it has been better days. I would say the only slight negative is for such an amazing area, the cafe options are a little basic. It's slightly disappointing to see in a time where most park cafes make the effort to have fresh coffee, and employ a barista, Stratford Park is still just using an instant coffee making machine. Overall, I'd definitely go to Stratford Park and with my family and will continue to recommend.
Great little walk with the kids! We always pop over after our weekly shop to feed the ducks and walk around the wooded area
