Strawberry Field ticks all the boxes for today's traveller; explore, unwind and dream in the place that inspired one of the 20th century's greatest songwriters. The iconic site immortalised by John Lennon in The Beatles hit, 'Strawberry Fields Forever' is open for visitors. Previously the site of a Salvation Army children's home where the young John Lennon played in the grounds, Strawberry Field is now a unique addition to Beatles tourism with responsible tourism and wellbeing at its heart. The new centre is home to an interactive visitor exhibition, featuring John's 'Imagine' piano, a cafe, a shop and calm garden spaces for reflection. Profits from the visitor experience fund charity programmes supporting young people into paid employment.
This was incredible to be honest and in our opinion is the best Beatles experience in the city. It's really interesting to learn about the Salvation Army and what they do. You really feel the presence of John Lennon and the history of the Salvation Army when you visit here. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. Make sure you visit here if you are a fan of The Beatles.
A tourist attraction that includes an audio-visual interactive history of the Salvation Army "Strawberry Field" children's home (long demolished) and Beatles history and memorabilia. After experiencing the centre don't forget to follow the path through the garden.
John Lennon of the #Beatles was inspired by a real place - Strawberry Field, a Salvation Army children's home in Woolton, Liverpool that was just around the corner from where he grew up. The museum, restaurant and gardens are a must see. Our favorite part of #Liverpool. The audio tour was very helpful and you were encouraged to be mindful and present in your own personal purpose and experience while listening to beautiful inspiring music.
I was so lucky to visit on a day they were repainting the signs. Enjoy a stop by if you have the time!
Friendly staff, lovely cafe, relaxing outdoor space, and super little shop. We will have to try the John Lennon experience the next time we are in Liverpool
Excellent experience going around the garden. It's amazing that the Beatles visited this place and I'm sure they really loved it, so peaceful and tranquil.
