A picturesque beach with soft, golden sand and crystal-clear turquoise water, surrounded by rugged cliffs and scenic coastal paths, perfect for relaxing, swimming, and sunbathing, with nearby amenities and activities like surfing, kayaking, and fishing.
We were influenced to visit as we have our dog harry and so many beaches now refuse access to dogs, why I will never know, just segregate ? Ample [P] and easy access, toilets, beach cafe, naturist area. To be honest I will always prefer soft sand, this is pretty coarse shail but it is still lovely and last week of august it felt like plenty of space. Sea was of course cold but invigorating, but once again, harsh shail for kids so would not say ideal for little ones. Would I go again, probably not if a sandy beach closer but a lovely couple of hours.
What a beautiful stretch of beach, I don't swim very often in the sea but this was so inviting, crystal clear & superbly clean. The bonus of it being dog friendly meant my boy got to enjoy it too! As it was a shingle beach I enjoyed collected pebbles & rocks with my grandaughter to spell out her name (family tradition) I would recommend to anyone & have told friends & family it's a must visit. I will be returning to Dartmouth & this beautifully kept beach, oh they have a little cafe set on the beach too & there salted caramel slices are amazing!
Absolutly fantastic! Best beach in south Devon I'd say. Dog friendly and plenty of space. Height of the summer and I'd say not even 1/4 full it's goes on for a few miles. Go at high tide and the water is a steep drop but at low tide you can gradually walk in from a sloping hill. BBQs allowed in the beach so a lot of people come down late for this. Thee is a car park that is app based by RingGo or if your lucky and get there at the right time about 10 spaces as you pull in that are free! A fantastic little beach cafe "lime coffee" operates here too. We loved this beach so much that we came here probably more than anywhere else during our stay
Fantastic pebble beach, with crystal clear calm water, no seaweed at all. Good little shop on the beach selling, tea, coffee, cakes and ice-cream. Free public toilets near the carpark and as a bonus dogs are allowed. On our visit we saw a seal. Just one thing to note. There is a naturist beach somewhere nearby, not sure where, but a notice board near the toilets advised that naturists may use the facilities.
Ideal for dog walkers and those young and old who need a car park close to the beach. Wide open spaces with plenty of room. Beachside cafe shack is a bonus. Beware of shelving and strong undercurrent tow with small children though.
Stayed to the right of the toilets as apparently to the left is a naturists beach. Nice little shingle beach, very clean and easily accessible.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Good for kids
