Sudley House, well kept house with great fire places / paintings on view. Liverpool Cafe (rec the Scouse) and beautiful Hillsborough memorial garden. And it's free.
I really enjoyed exploring this amazing museum with some of the most beautiful pieces of artwork. I loved exploring the stunning gardens and surrounding countryside.
You realy need to go check out this place, It's steeped in history, I no lots about Sudley as moved tobarea in 1978
This is a really nice historical property to walk around, particularly the ground floor which the council have attempted to restore to it's original glory. The gardens are very tranquil and the coffee shop popular with a good range of light dishes, snacks and refreshments. It's a nice, low key venue to relax in as you walk around. Also impressive is the art collection with Turners and Gainsborough amongst others - all collected by the original owner of the house. Similarly, I particularly enjoyed getting amongst the exhibits, unlike at National Trust properties which tend to rope-off rooms - well done Liverpool City Council
What an enchanting and exquisite house. A hidden gem in a beautiful area of Liverpool.
A truly lovely place, Sudley House is a really good gallery with quality art. The staff were very knowledgeable, interesting and interested in the house and its contents. The cafe is small with a limited menu, but what was there was very tasty and reasonably priced.
