Long-standing mountain cablecar system known for its panoramic views, operating Apr-Oct.
Definitely need to try this old style cable car station which is built in 1969. There can be quite long queues but they move fast enough. Only 2 adults or 2 adults + 2 kids allowed on cable car together. Very great views from above to beach pier houses town.
A must visit by anyone visiting Wales. It's a beautiful drive up the hill or by tram. Ample parking on the top. A few cafes to enjoy a hot meal and drinks.
Had more trips to Llandudno than I can count but had never done the cable cars before. It was a sunny day with no breeze and it was great. Really easy, great views and constantly running. It is cash only, so make sure you have some before you trek up there as the nearest cash point is quite a walk. Would be great to be able to pay by card or book ahead online.
We visited Llandudno for the day whilst on holiday in Rhyl, and we knew the cable cars were something we wanted to do. Be prepared for a bit of a steep uphill walk to the Happy Valley station (dreadful in the 27deg heat!). Once there, the tickets can only be paid for in cash, which we were prepared for as we'd checked the website ahead of time. We were quickly onboarded onto a car, and set off on the 9 minute journey up to the summit. The views were incredible and absolutely breathtaking. You can see for miles across the whole of Llandudno and the sea, and then over the other side to the mountain. Once at the top, there's an adventure mini golf, a gift shop and cafe, toilets, and lots of places to sit and take in the views. There's also a large car park if you'd prefer to drive up to the summit, where you'll incur a small PS2.50 toll free. Whilst this was a fantastic experience, I'd say the cost of the return ticket is far far too high. PS14.00 pp for an 18 min all-in journey. There's not enough to do at the summit to warrant a longer trip up there, which would make it better value for money. I'd go again, but only by car.
It's a nice place with beautiful scenery. I went on a weekend in June. There was a long queue for the cable car, and they only accept cash, so you can't use a card for payments. Also, be aware that the service is suspended if it's too windy.
Beautiful area up out of Llandudno, PS5 to access toll road to get there and about PS5 to park for a few hours. Great little cafe and gift place, amazing views and the cable car plus tramway down to the village if you dont want to drive up.
