Located in the heart of Lincoln, Sunken Gardens is a tranquil oasis featuring beautiful gardens, walking paths, and a variety of plant species. The gardens are situated in a former chalk quarry, which was converted into a public park in the early 20th century. Today, visitors can stroll through the gardens, admire the vibrant flowers, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The gardens also host various events and exhibitions throughout the year, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
Garden near the drain Westgate Kent. Sadly they are disappointing, could be beautiful but not kept in nice condition at all. I guess if it's relying on a working group with little funding it's difficult. There is a good range of trees and bushes of various varieties but it needs the lawns area sorting and some nice colourful flowers. There are some seats and it's a peaceful place. There is free parking on the nearby road
Lovely sheltered spot on top of the cliffs. Maintained by the sunken gardens community group, it's well kept with information and varied plants and flowers, with plenty of space to play and explore.
Such a beautiful green space for a moment of calm in nature. I remember playing hide and seek in this Sunken Garden as a child. I was really happy to re-visit and find lots of information about the local eco-systems, the opportunity to volunteer as part of the community gardening club, and too, that the wild flowers look more bright and beautiful then ever.
Hide away serene little garden lovely to sit and hear the birds sing or eat your picnic lunch . Sadly today did not enjoy my walk having to pass this gypsy encampment. Used toilet paper in undergrowth . Unhygienic odours in the air has you pass through this area .
Beautiful hidden garden
Not as good as it used to be. It looks like Thanet council no longer spend money on keeping this area looking good. I believe the work that is completed, is done by volunteers.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
Dogs allowed
