A tranquil and serene spot, Swithland Reservoir is a picturesque man-made lake surrounded by rolling hills and woodlands. The reservoir's calm waters reflect the beauty of the surrounding landscape, creating a sense of peace and tranquility. Walking trails and footpaths meander around the reservoir, offering scenic views and opportunities to spot local wildlife, including birds, fish, and other aquatic creatures.
Can only walk around the reservoir cause it's a conservative area, very scenic and nice to look at though, alot of cyclist around. The back entrance has alot of pot holes, should always take the front.
Good place to spend evenings. Nice and calm. No walk ways or parking makes it difficult. Just watch the reservoir from the road.
Lovely picturesque place to just get away and spend some time at, brilliantly local and parking is a doddle, if you go summer/autumn and want some amazing shots of the sun going down then this is an amazing place .
A beautiful spot to get away from it all and just enjoy the peace and quiet that this area presents. Road is very windy getting to it, so please be careful. Additionally, you can carry on going round onward towards Woodhouse Eaves. Be warned though... The road surface isn't really suitable for normal cars!
Went to chill and relax whilst my friends went Canoeing. Chilled, beautiful and great view
Can we go there on car? There was no parking or even any other car so we turned back.
Hiking
Good for kids
Kid-friendly hikes
