This 62-acre park in southeast London features a stunning mix of natural beauty and historic charm. The park is built around the remains of a medieval settlement, with ancient woodland, rolling hills, and a picturesque lake. Visitors can explore the ruins of a 12th-century priory, wander through the tranquil gardens, and enjoy the scenic views from the top of the hill. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, bats, and insects, making it a haven for nature lovers. With its unique blend of history, nature, and relaxation, Sydenham Wells Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Wells Park has something for everyone at all times of the day. There's even bats and bat walks during the late Spring/summer.
Great park, good for my dog as he gets a good runs around. There is a pond with some little ducklings and some very special vegetation, including one of the biggest willow trees I've ever seen. In the far corner there is a nature reserve where you can follow little tracks through to the park again. Absolutely love this park!
Lovely local park. Has everything you wish for and a very pleasant place for a walk or stroll. Just note that if you have little ones the playground can get flooded in winter
Lovely park, visited for the dog show. Lots of places to sit, but diappointed no baby changing facilities and isn't it time to clear out the rancid puddles squatting in the children's playground? On the grounds of health and safety?
A nice park for a walk or a picnic - a hidden gem. Well maintained and usually not very busy. Big playground including zip line and water sprinklers turned on in the summer. And a second smaller playground at the top of the park. A catering van with drinks, snacks and icream during busy season. Toilets not always open.
Stumbled accross this little spot on a walk. A pleasant little discovery. A nice green space with a blooming botanical section. Peaceful, I saw a playground for the little ones and nice for dog walking and quiet walks or runs.
