The lakes is a peaceful place,, albeit run down and not particularly clean,, extremely dark at night which is very strange and unsafe, especially being a resort. The staff are un professional and very very rude,, its been like this for years! You really need a lesson in consumer politeness and etiquette 'a smile goes along way,, some people save up all year to go on a holiday and if they book experiences, please have the professional manners to make them feel happy and excited about there time using the facilities.. If the consumer's aren't sure of what to expect, or maybe there is a confusion then as the employee great every person with a smile and explain in a calm tone, without being greeted with a passive aggressive attitude, to resolve any confusion Word and mouth helps a place like this to survive or not

Dont know how we found this site but glad we did. Only travelled a short distance down the A1 and landed at Tallington Lakes.|It has a grand new stone entrance and block paved up to the gates.||Initial entry you have to drive up to the barrier and press the intercom button and book in, but after that entry and exit is controlled by ANPR, making it simple.||We had a very quiet touring spot with hard standing.... And they are not tight on space. You have room fir a caravan, awning and car... unlike some.||Nice bar/ club area with outside decking and outside pool.||We used it as a base for visiting Peterborough , which was about 7 miles away so ideal.||Thats all the good points.||Now a couple of improvement points.|Theres probably 40 to 50 camping/ touring slots..... and one toilet/ shower block that looks more than a little tired. Could definitely use an upgrade. Disabled toilet... good point.. Disabled shower.... There isnt one , so if owners read this , it may be worth an addition.||From the barriers to reception could use a little more tarmac and a few less harsh speed humps.||Finally.... Owners have their own boating / jet ski areas.... Why are toures/ campers not allowed to use their own equipment... ie paddleboards... personally im not a fan of having to hire when we own one.||The all important question.... Would we recommend Tallington Lakes???||Even with the few bad points id definately recommend the site and will definitely be returning

We have just spent the weekend in a privately rented lodge that backed onto the paddle sports lake. The lodge was excellent with decking, hot tub, and as advertisec had a private lakeside jetty for the launching of our paddleboards and kayak.|The problems started when organising the self launch of our SUP's and kayak from our jetty.|The reception office where you pay for your self launch and sign the waiver appear to be working to different rules than the paddle watersports centre, and neither of them seem to want to work with each other to make the process of getting on the water with your SUP easier for their clients.|Because reception staff dont provide you with the relevant information for the watersports centre |They need to check your floatation aids.|They may want to check your craft.| Also, the watersports centre disagrees with lodge marketing,|- you can launch from your private jetty.|Other issues|- it would be nice to pay for 2/3 days launch fees at one go instead of having to do it daily.|- having waiver, launch fees, and watersport centre checks all in one place rather than opposite ends of the lake.|-If you are self launching from a chalet, why do the watersports centre need you to sign on and off the water when you are not using their facilities and you have signed the waiver and you can be on the water when the watersports center is closed.|-why is the water sports centre applying yachting regulations on bouyancy aids to paddleboards. ||The lake is good for SUP but the issues we had with trying to follow the requirements for self launch from a chalet took about 1 1/2 hours out of our first morning.

A different place to a few years ago. We went several times in 2017/18 and loved it. This time it has a very different vibe. Big groups of all ages making noise till the early hours. The toilet blocks were very tired. I must mention the lady at the watersports reception as she was quite possibly the rudest person I've come across for ages. She shouted at us several times as we didn't have a debit card on us to leave in their safe whilst we took their paddleboards out for an hour. It might be in your extensive T&C's but no need for it. I would go back in a few years as I believe they are refurbing some areas and id go off peak so it's a bit quieter at night.

Had a fabulous relaxed weekend at Tallington Lakes on there main bank touring pitches (MB06). We went there to get some downtime as a family member has been in hospital recently. A hour before we due to pack away on Sunday to come home I received a phone call from the hospital in Essex to advise that our family member had gone downhill dramatically and they advised us to come back asap to Essex and the hospital. We explained our situation to the staff at Tallington Lakes that we required to make a swift departure and they agreed for us to just lock our caravan and head off and they would mind our property overnight. I have to say that the staff at this place was amazing and nothing was a problem for them with them more happy to go the extra mile to help. Our family member is now stable in hospital and I returned to Tallington Lakes a day later to collect our caravan. All of our family appreciated greatly the swift and caring actions of the staff there. We will certainly return again for another holiday with our caravan

Stayed for 1 night this weekend, pitch great size and easily found, every employee looked fed up especially bar staff, wasn't overly busy. Paddle boarding PS75 for 5 people 1 hour bit steep. The day was spoilt by the arrival of over 15 youths driving up and down til past 2am screaming and shouting what a huge shame to have spent so much and to have had no sleep, 1 member of our party of 5 actually left as was unbearable
