The operating base of the Talyllyn railway. A small platform allows passengers to join or alight on their journey. The works are only accessible by prior appointment, or on open days COVID update - due to current restrictions you cannot join or alight a train at this station. Please see full details on our website
Elemental trip down memory lane. Everyone relaxed, friendly, and knowledgeable. Explorer ticket for maximum flexibility.
Disclaimer: I am a Talyllyn volunteer Pendre station is a small request stop, attached to the railways main depot - please note that the sheds and works are not open to the public except by prior special arrangement There are no passenger facilities or parking at this station, other than the waiting shelter - I would generally recommend joining the train at Tywyn Wharf station where there are full facilities available, which is only a few minutes drive across the town. If you do wish to join at Pendre, remember it is a request stop - please signal clearly to the loco crew that you wish them to stop for you
Lovely journey through all of the stations and well worth getting of at as many as you can as there's something to see and just sitting on the platform watching the world go by is a link to bygone days when the world was slower and more relaxed. Give it a try as you might like it and with a bit more planning there is a cafe at at least one of the stations.
Great station on the Talyllyn Railway - other than Tywyn, it's the only other stop with a cafe. The cafe is licensed and so sells alcoholic beverages - which is an absolute godsend if you've just done a 10k walk, and found that the Railway Inn pub in Abergernolwyn has shut down!
Part of the Talyllyn railway. Short walk from Tywyn high street. No parking or toilets here. Not all trains stop but there is a waiting shelter. Come to the Talyllyn railway soon. UKs 1st to be restored by volunteers. A beautiful, narrow gauge ,friendly place forever in my happiest memories.
This a unique and very special place, for engine lovers. You can catch a train here but to see it properly you need to book on a Pioneer Train. Check the website fir more details.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
