So much to do here for children. Animals to see, reptiles and spiders/insects also. Play barn, another indoor play area, outside play equipment such a trim trail, air pillows, zip wire, beat the goalie style football area, shoot hoops, trampolines, pedal go karts and more. Cafe reasonably priced. In addition there are extras on site you can pay for. Archery, axe throwing (both depends on minimum age) plus football golf and an amazing aquamarine area. These are probably best booked in advance. In the farm you can also pay for a meet the animals sessions, best booked in advance also I would imagine. A great day out.
This was a first visit to Tapnell Farm having been a regular to the Isle of Wight for 15 years. It was also useful to scout this out as a potential venue for my class when we visit next year on our week away. We only booked for the Farm Park but Tapnell has a lot of other activities such as axe throwing, archery, football golf and an aqua park. These are all at additional cost and can be booked separately to the actual Farm Park. Once inside, it became quickly apparent that the animals were secondary to the range of activities on offer. That said, there were enough farm animals plus others to keep the children interested and the indoor section with rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and reptiles/bugs was excellent. My children also really enjoyed the wallaby walkthrough which was fab. Other things that kept us busy for well over half the day and included in the ticket were mini golf, swings, obstacle courses, zip wires, inflatable pillows, trampolines, a 'beach', pedal carts and a Shaun the Sheep race competition. Zorbs were also available on the day but these were an extra cost too. All in all, this place was excellent for my two children aged 3 and 5 and would probably entertain them up until 8 or 9. But beyond this I felt older children would possibly find it a little tame and as such would not suit my Year 6 class. The football golf and aqua park would perhaps be a better choice of activity for them.
Great place take take the grandson of 17 months. Although I wish there was more than a house, two slides and two seesaws for his age group BUT he was contained and happy. Lots to see, small animals and larger. He loves and Alpacas. Enough to do for a day for older ones.
Amazing farm park. Have spent a good 4 hours here today with the kids there is SO much to do for all abilities! The gravel isn't overly wheelchair friendly but pulling backwards works / motorised wheelchair had no issues. So much to do, cafes, animals inside and outside, face painter, soft play, football shot game, bale play barn, indoor basketball, trampolines and little park, ride on go karts, sledge, free crazy golf, big animal walk and more! Lovely view of the coast from the park too to take in while the kids are playing on the bouncy pillows (2 of them 1 for under 5's one for over 5's). Our SEN 16 yr old loved it, and our 6 yr old full of energy boy was knackered after the day here! Worth spending every minute possible here as there is just so much to do we didn't get round it all!
A great day out with a huge variety of activities to do and animals to see. The animal sessions were well run and informative, giving a chance for the kids to hold stick insects and feed wallabies. The indoor barn area was very engaging and basketball and football targets entertained well. The coffee shop staff were constantly friendly and helpful throughout the day. Whilst areas being closed for maintenance is understandable, there were also a couple of additional areas which could have done with some tlc. This is not unusual for farm activity centres and I would say this is one of the best we have been to. With the evident ongoing investment in improvement I am sure if we visit in future it will be even better! My photos are an afterthought and don't do it justice.
We stayed at their domes for 4 nights with a family of 5. Had a great time and enjoyed the farm and aqua park. Would stay again. Friendly staff and lots to do.
