A picturesque lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant wildflowers, offering a serene atmosphere and a glimpse into the region's industrial heritage.
Great wee visitors centre right on the canal in Chesterfield. We'll worth a visit for a nice walk along the canal and maybe stay for a cuppa or ice cream. Also Toilets.

Nice place to walk. Little visitor's centre and shop. Good walks both ways along the canal and great views of the river. Sculptures and art installations around and under the bridge. On road parking. Toilet facilities available
Went on the canal trip, which was about an hour. But unfortunately, it broke down on the return. The staff on the boat were very apologetic. We did see the funny side of it and we had to walk the plank and walk the short distance back. We did enjoy the trip. At the lock cafe we had some lovely cake and as we were leaving we could see them pulling the boat back by hand.
Nice cafe stop while cycling the canal.
Nice place to sit and enjoy a cuppa next to canal. Only downside is the very limited parking available nearby on roadside. Double yellow lines all around, a shame some of the car dealerships next door couldn't allow some parking beside their showrooms.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
