Set in the beautiful countryside of North Devon the track bed follows the course of the River Torridge; our eventual aim is to run alongside the tidal stretch and into Bideford. Access for all users of the Tarka Trail of will always be maintained.
great scenery and walk location which is flat. Saw some salmon in the river which was good. Walk was spoilt a bit by the amount of bikes and kids passing through so all the noise means no Otter in sight
Amazing tarmac path alongside the estuary for walking or cycling, we did the Bideford to Puffing Billy stretch today, 6 miles each way.
It's a great walk, there are a lot of cyclists that use this part of the Tarka trail, so it is imperative that you keep eye in front of you and behind, especially if you have a dog off lead. Sadly there are a small band of cyclists that treat the trail as a proving ground for speed trails. But that said it is a good walk, with the Puffing Billy where you can get food and drinks.
Lovely walk, just extend that line, Bideford would be good start.
Beautiful scenery. Perfect for a bike ride or a walk with the family
Excellent work being carried out by dedicated volunteers to restore a part of Devon history. Highly recommended.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
