This 18th-century estate turned heritage park features a stunning landscape with rolling hills, woodlands, and a large lake, as well as a variety of attractions including a steam railway, a vintage carriage museum, and a recreated Victorian street with shops and exhibits. Visitors can explore the park's many walking trails, take a ride on the steam train, or enjoy a picnic on the grounds. The park is also home to a number of historic buildings, including the impressive Preston Hall, which dates back to the 19th century.
Fantastic place to visit, we were lucky enough to see on a heritage weekend so free entry. Very good outdoor activity area for children. Great skate park on site and walks on the river Tees with boat rides / hire available. Impressive gardens and lots of activities / events on throughout the year. Will be back again for sure.
Some nice free spots for fishing, very tidy area and well maintained. Good for walking the family dog, lots of open spaces.
Its a beautiful place to go for a walk and right on the doorstep so to speak. Great for dog walking along the river in the woods or if you feel a little more adventurous down by the nature reserve. If your really lucky you'll get to see some deer roaming loose .
What a beautiful, Park, pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful landscape and museum. This experience brought back so many memories. Advise All to visit Preston Park. Only PS5 for a full year family pass....how cost effective is this! A fab, memorable visit.
Love the nature BUT, footpaths in need of attention, and no bins for rubbish or poo bags. If you drive to it when the fishing is on you can't get parked, so beware. Also land up for sale to the right of it becoming an eye sore for fly tipping and plastic waste from horse bails. On the upside by the river is lovely and it is good for dog walking.
Walking along the Tees Heritage Park makes for a pleasant afternoon and is a lovely place to stroll. We are lucky to have such places of open access on our doorsteps. Go explore and have fun and watch out for all the wildlife available.
