This place was lovely, we went to the Forrest car park and parking was chaotic and busy. We had looked before we come to make sure it was dog friendly, and in parts it was, but the main reason for us going was the wildlife part.... Dogs were banned from this large area. We ended up splitting up, with the dog taking a longer route round while I went through the wildlife area. They have a rat problem which they do have signs for near the cafe, I did see several in and around that area. My walk was gentle, ( I had a fractured leg) walking though the wildlife bit, although I didn't make the most of it as was meeting my daughter at otter bridge with the dog, her route was more of a walk and not so flat If you go, take monkey nuts with you, the squirrels are so friendly, they came up to me without food and held my hand. It was a beautiful walk and would of loved to explore more but due to dog restrictions we left.
Great natural environment, unspoilt by over-commercialism. Wonderful old trees, many bearing the scars of age and storms, beautiful for all that, regardless of the season. Ideal walking area ,with or without a dog. And there's a nice cafe at the south lodge with indoor and outdoor seating.
Good walking routes of different distances. Nice lake with swans and ducks.
Wonderful woodland and lake go wander round. There is a cafe, toilets, parking and a path easy to push a pram or bike round for kiddies.
Beautiful place to walk, relax and enjoy nature
An amazing place. Dog walks are great and not to hilly if you struggle walking. We visit regularly. Also there's an awsome cafe that do excellent tiger rolls and coffee. A must visit
