A treasure trove of 1950s memorabilia housed in a purpose built museum in the heart of the Vale of Clwyd. From cigarette packets to children's comics, radios and TVs classic cars, toys, annuals, a crime-section, room settings, a Grocer Shop, music section and thousands more artefacts. A visit is guaranteed to bring back memories of drab post-war Britain: life without technology and streaming entertainment. For sports enthusiasts there is a working gym full of memorabilia.
A feast for the eyes! We couldn't believe we didn't know about this gem! The number of items packed in here is outstanding. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and the information: interesting and captivating! Nostaligia- check! Loads to see- check! Warm welcome- check! Cheap day out- check! Free parking, about PS7 entry. My only constructive criticism would be that more signage is needed and more should be put into it- more people should see this collection! It's fascinating. (My pictures only show a tiny amount of what's on view!)
A great museum with so much to see ,rooms made up to look like a typical 1950s house, lots of the items on display reminded me of things I had as a child ,well worth a visit.
Lots to look at, so many sections/rooms! PS7.50 each to get in which is great, owner is very knowledgeable and loves a chat. Our favourite area was the old shop and the cars at the back of the building! Also a really nice touch they have 50s music playing.
Fantastic. What a lovely man. All that hard work of collecting so much memorabilia. Was very good and interesting. Would visit again.
these guys don't get enough appreciation at all!! if you're driving anywhere nearby you need to visit. was on our way to corwen for easter with my boyfriend and stopped off here as a way to break up our journey and wow i'm glad we did. the absolute treasures inside this one building is absolutely ridiculous. other reviews don't do justice the sheer amount of antiques they have in here, all perfectly displayed with written explanations about the era and what they were used for. could have spent hours here, my boyfriend isn't big on museums but said this has completely changed his mind because of how interesting everything was. the sheer volume of items in here is astonishing, tonnes of literal cars in the downstairs section, sewing machines, antique lighters, kids toys, and propaganda on everything from smoking to homosexuality to segregation. is a 100% MUST VISIT!!!
What a blast from the past for my grandad he absolutely loved it all haven't seen him smile like he did for a while Me and my partner really enjoyed it and loved listening to the old memories everyone had to tell us :) Cost us PS21.50 for 3 people to go in and was well worth it And the tea and coffee were spot on
