This museum showcases the history of the 453rd Bombardment Group, a USAAF unit that operated from RAF Old Buckenham during World War II. The museum features exhibits on the group's missions, aircraft, and personnel, as well as a collection of artifacts, photographs, and personal stories. Visitors can explore a recreated Nissen hut, view a B-24 Liberator bomber, and learn about the bravery and sacrifices of the airmen who served with the 453rd.
Very small museum, but informative. Lots of artefacts and a creepy dummy thats kind of leering at you. The maps on the wall are interesting. Free but there is a donation "box". If the door looks shut, pull it, it probably is open. There is a war memorial opposite as well.
The Old Buckenham Air Show is an amazing spectacle of classic and modern aircraft, aerobatics and precision flying. We enjoyed every minute of it!
Having been to the Old Buckenham Airshow the last few years, all I can say is it's honestly a fantastic event, lots of old WW2 era planes and modern ones too like the Typhoon. Highly recommend for anyone who loves history or aviation. My granddad always told me of the yanks who gave him candy as a kid during world war 2 on the old American air base. Lots of history to learn here and experience!
A nice tribute to the men who flew from this base. Much quieter now. An informative museum as well, well worth a visit
Went for the Airshow at the weekend. What a treat it was. We had the best time!
Arrived on Friday as on Google but was closed. Appears the owner has been asked for 12 months to change details@
