A picturesque geothermal spa nestled in a lush, green valley surrounded by lava fields in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula, the Blue Lagoon's milky blue water is rich in silica and minerals, creating a surreal and tranquil atmosphere.
Very limited spaces in carpark layby without obstructing emergency gate but free all day. Short walk around the lake on narrow paths, not pram friendly. Although beautiful place, it's probably only got 3 or 4 ideal picnic spots. Overall we enjoyed our dinner on the "beech" but unfortunately the nearby sewage treatment plant spoils it when you're down wind of it.
Great place to be on a hot summers day..from running to swimming..chilling..paddle boarding..great place..or just going there too sit and watch the world go by.
Great days fishing the scenery is beautiful too
Beautiful place to relax and go for stroll around the pond, then climb up the hill and sit on well placed bench with view overlooking the whole pond. Love to cycle along it while on my way to Normanby hall park
Nice place to walk around or sit on bench.
Beautiful area well maintained just off the main road ideal for all abilities possible not wheelchair due to thin paths
Hiking
Good for kids
Kid-friendly hikes
