The Bridge Inn is a rural country pub, located in the shadow of the Black Mountains next to the Escley Brook, run by Louise and H. Named as one of the best country pubs, they stock a selection of Hereford beers, ciders and very local award winning Gin made in the Village by Black Mountains Botanicals. The Bridge Inn has also a small campsite and riverside hard standing pitches. If you fancy to stay the night there yurts available as B&B contact [email protected]. or Self catering at Bridge Farmhouse, run by Glyn and Gisela Bufton at only 2 min walk from The Bridge, contact [email protected]. In the summer there is a beautiful riverside beer garden and in the winter a huge roaring fire. A proper good pub.
Liked: Great place to stay. We were warmly great by H the owner and allocated a really great pitch (4), corner plot, which was just perfect for us. We truly rested and enjoyed our down time. We even enjoyed a lovely meal at the Bridge inn pub which is right on site and was 100 yards from our pitch. We had a gorgeous meal and would highly recommend it. All in all, a lovely time and we'll certainly be going back. Disliked: Nothing
Liked: Lovely quiet area, such friendly people and lovely food at the pub, right by the river and as it's so small facilities right beside you!every pitch has its own water.Very good showers too. Disliked: Some soap in the wash rooms,as there was none and a few more signs to direct you into the campsite area,we only travelled from up the road,so know the area but for others it would be hard to find, especially with no signal.Couldnt see a chemical waste area.An access point to the river from the bank would be nice, not a dislike at all but would be good for children/dogs.
Liked: Beautiful setting really relaxing in a well marked out site. Easy electric hook up especially for us first timers. Clean flushing toilets and large showers with plenty of hot water. Unfortunately the pub was not open so not able to sample the food and drink. Maybe next time!! Disliked: Nothing
Liked: Landlord of the Bridge Inn was an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble, only had to ask! Beautiful, picturesque site, dog friendly, peaceful and relaxing right next to the river. Clean site with all facilities available. All sorts of entertainments included. Just have to book on the right days for the outdoor film showings and live mike and music nights. Our motorhome is 7 meters long and was tight through the endless lanes to get to pub, but we made it! Wouldn't be much fun coming up against the hgvs which travel along the same lanes. Thankfully we must have chosen the right time to arrive and leave as otherwise it would have been a difficult journey. Disliked: The lanes were very narrow and had limited passing, pull in lanes. Pub closed on Sunday and Monday! OMG, No phone service or WI-FI !
Liked: A lovely gem of a site with a small number of good sized pitches, a relaxed quiet vibe, really helpful and friendly owners and delicious home cooked pub food. Wifi could be accessed near the pub building. Phone signal was not available but we were aware of this so not a problem to us Disliked: Some narrow roads en route to the site though found the approach on the road from Vowchurch to be the best as there were plenty of passing places.
My partner and I booked to go camping at this lovely little pub in February. Needless to say, the weather was awful but thankfully the hospitality of the landlady was warm and welcoming. Having seen us struggling in the rain, trying to cook dinner, she offered for us to stay in a yurt for free. This was available for 2 nights and she very kindly offered for us to stay there for both nights. The yurt was lovely, with gorgeous decorations and a heated blanket! The atmosphere in the pub was fantastic and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend this pub and will be back (maybe in summer next time!).
